Welcome to Asian Fusion Vegan Cuisine



Ni hao and xie xie ni! Hello and thank you for joining me on Asian Fusion Vegan Cuisine. My name is Chef Barrae and I have had a lifelong passion and fascination for Chinese Cuisine and Culture that began early on. I have taken that passion to new heights in my Asian Fusion Cuisine.

My career as a chef has had many iterations. I began as a personal chef and caterer, appearing on local television and gained notoriety as a popular blogger and author, focusing on healthy low carbohydrate, diabetic and family friendly restaurant style meals. I had a brief stint in the world of corporate chefs, working for an internationally known giant in the food industry, Sodexho-Marriott. Taking what I learned from there, I eventually grew to become a restaurateur and was chef owner of a cozy bistro serving wholesome eclectic Americana, Fusion and Barbeque to the doctors, employees, patients and residents of a major healthcare facility. After successfully losing over 200 pounds and writing a weight loss book and companion cookbooks, I became a personal coach and taught workshops for healthy cooking and lectured across the county. My latest venture was creating and test marketing Sauceress, my  highly successful vegan and gluten free condiments and hot sauces.

My special brand of cooking, my point of view, has always been driven by my passion for Asian Fusion Cuisine. As a teen, I learned classic Cantonese and Mandarin Restaurant Cuisine first hand from my dear friend Edna, who just happened to live with an Asian chef, Chef Moy, her father. She openly shared her knowledge, skills and secrets of Chinese cooking and unknowingly fed my burning desire and passion. This has been the common thread throughout my years of cooking both privately and publically, has influenced many creations and grown into my own unique style of Asian Fusion. My vision is to share my passion for Asian Fusion Cuisine in as many genres of cooking as I can. Now, I get to bring my perspective, knowledge and techniques to my own personal new lifestyle of conscious healthy plant based cuisine, while keeping it as organic as possible, non-GMO, sustainable and locally sourced and dairy and gluten free.

Here you will find the recipes that coincide with my classes, a schedule of upcoming classes, appearances, events and dinners. I also get to share some new creations where your palate and recipe testing with  feedback will be requested. I also get to keep you posted on local resources for the Asian ingredients that are in alignment and offer tours of these markets.
